Congratulations! Over 27,000 Georgians cast their votes for Ron Paul in the Presidential Primary on February 5. That’s over 27,000 people who heard and understood Ron Paul’s message, despite an almost complete media blackout across the state, where talk radio plays the neoconservative drumbeat almost incessantly.

Think about what this means. The Ron Paul Revolution may not have reached a critical mass yet, but it is growing, and I honestly believe there are many more still open to the message. We have much work to do in lighting fires of freedom in people’s minds.

If we can get all Ron Paul voters into the delegate selection process, we can still win Georgia for Ron Paul. Remember, voters do not elect the nominee: delegates do. For more information, please visit the Georgia Ron Paul Delegate Meetup Group at http://ronpaul.meetup.com/1748.

There was some more good news. In most precincts, the exit polling conducted by our army of volunteers was largely in line with the reported results, and few people had problems with the voting machines themselves. We still have much data entry and analysis to do before we can call this issue settled, however.

There were some unfortunate exceptions, such as the precinct in Douglas County where dozens of voters left the line in disgust after hours of delays. In most cases, exit pollers were not allowed to observe the process of determining the vote totals. In fact, many of the precinct workers were quite rude in their refusal to work with exit pollers, who have a right and a civic duty to verify clean elections and were polite about doing so. The volunteers understood the laws about exit polling much better than the precinct workers themselves, but we were helped immensely by Laurie Sparks with the Secretary of State’s office, who answered their questions and allowed us to keep working. Many precincts did not post the results of the elections as required, or only did so partially. There are even reports of vote tallying in central locations, as opposed to the precinct itself, as required by law. All of these exceptions will be reported to the Secretary of State’s office.

All in all, though, not a bad day for the Ron Paul Revolution in Georgia. And we had a great time at the celebration last night! Thanks to all that came out.

Yours in liberty,

Ike Hall

Please confirm where you are expected to vote tomorrow. If you submitted a change of address before the registration deadline, the county registrar’s office may or may not have updated your polling location. Go to the following website and enter your information to confirm your polling location. Call your county registrar’s office if there is a problem.

Poll Locator: http://sos.georgia.gov/cgi-bin/locator.asp

Here is the alert I received that prompted this message:

“I just wanted to report in what may be important news for Georgia voters.

“Not too long ago, we were given a deadline to turn in our changes of address to make sure that we’d be able to vote in our respective precincts for this primary.

”Since I’d moved from one county to another, I turned in the form and it was postmarked before the deadline.

”Apparently, so did a lot of other Georgia voters.

“You can imagine our surprise when we went in to vote early and found out that the changes that were supposed to have been made HADN’T been. This wasn’t just one instance. While I waited in line for the polling, the SAME thing happened to several other Georgia voters who were in line as well.

“You need to let Georgia voters know that if they turned in their forms on time, they still may have to go to their OLD precincts in order to vote. I’d hate for it all to come down to tomorrow, and a huge number of Ron Paul’s voters find out that they’ve got to drive clear across the county or state to weigh in on the primaries.”

Thank you for the heads-up, and GO RON PAUL!!!

Greetings, Georgia Ron Paul supporters!

With appreciation to all in receipt of this message, it has been a great week for the campaign, and it is all because of you! You have all worked very hard over the course of the past year, and you have done an outstanding job! In Georgia, Ron Paul is polling in the double digits, and this would not be possible were it not for you! Every person you have touched has become another branch of the tree of liberty.

With the Primary quickly approaching, we are working hard on our final push. Continuing through Monday, Canvassing and Literature Drops are to remain our top priority. Tuesday, we will be focused on Getting Out The Vote, and Exit Polling. Be sure to call all of your friends, family, acquaintances and contacts to remind them of the importance of exercising their right to cast a ballot for Ron Paul.

Nathan Adams, Fulton County Coordinator, has worked hard on forms and instructions to streamline the Exit Polling process. If you are available to assist with Exit Polling, please contact Nathan at nadams@ieee.org, or your County Coordinator at http://voters.ronpaul2008.com/grassroots for instructions.

It is with much dismay that I announce that we have already received a report of an issue with Diebold’s electronic voting machines in Georgia:

——————————-
“She & her husband went to vote early the other day - electronic voting machines, of course, I think it was Cobb County. The entire family is Ron Paul 100%, they know how to spell his name, etc. She selects “Ron Paul” and enters the ballot selection. The confirmation screen to approve the ballot choice then appears, and the message on the screen says something like this: “Are you sure you wish to cast your ballot for JOHN MCCAIN?” The names “John McCain” and “Ron Paul” were not even next to one another.”
——————————-

If you have the ability, you may wish to take your camera phone to the polls and video your vote. This should be done quietly, as the legality of recording one’s own vote has not yet been verified by the Georgia Secretary of State. If there are any discrepancies during the process of casting your ballot, inform Nathan Adams by calling him at 770/653-0494, and he will instruct you as to where you can send a copy of your video immediately! Whether you can video your vote or not, we will need an Affidavit with a full description of the discrepancy to be completed by you and signed in front of a Notary Public. This Affidavit is available at this link:

http://files.meetup.com/567481/ga_feb_5th_affidavit_trouble.doc

We will need you to fax this affidavit to our February 5th command center at 404/870-0039; retain and safeguard the original while awaiting further instructions.

The fun doesn’t stop after the Primary- quite the contrary, this is where it gets interesting! On Wednesday, keeping with the momentum we’ve built over the past year, our focus will shift to the Delegate Selection Process which begins as early as February 16th. This is the single most important step past the Primary for all Georgia supporters of Ron Paul.

I quote the following from a message from Ike Hall on January 9th: “Here is why this is important. The delegates chosen in the first round of voting following the Iowa Caucuses were mostly Ron Paul Supporters, but Ron Paul finished fifth. So how did this happen? Ron Paul supporters understood the process better and stayed longer at caucus sites than supporters of other candidates, and thus outnumbered everyone else when the delegates were chosen. If it comes to a floor fight at the Republican National Convention, it is vitally important that there be more delegates for Ron Paul than any other candidate.”

For more information, please join the Meetup Group we have formed for this express purpose:

The Georgia Ron Paul Delegate Meetup Group at http://ronpaul.meetup.com/1748/.

This Meetup will serve to be our central point of contact for other Delegate Contenders, provide training classes and materials, and answer any questions you may have about this labyrinth of bureaucracy. Though this process may at first appear simple, it is not easy- but, this is where you can really make a significant impact for the future of our movement, our government and our country! Arming ourselves to fight a battle of keen wit and diplomacy, we can do this- and we will.

We encourage you to become involved in your local Republican party. Due in part to the general apathy amongst Republicans over the past several years, membership numbers are low; this is an issue all across the State of Georgia including the Metro Atlanta area. Take, for instance, Fulton County where- according to the US Census Bureau- the population at last count in 2006 was 960,009. At that same point in time, membership in the Fulton County Republican Party was at 379, and it has dwindled since then (not to mention that ugly bout for Party Chairman in November 2007).

As of this moment, there are 593 members in The Atlanta Ron Paul 2008 Meetup Group- and this does not even begin to account for support across the rest of the County!

I am pleased to announce that on January 30th, Don and Sandra Mironov of Franklin, GA were appointed the County Party Coordinator and Assistant for the Heard County Republican Party! This was not an involved process; according to Don, “There was no one doing this so we volunteered and they accepted.” Our presence alone will have a profound influence on the future of politics- it is time we follow in the steps of Don and Sandra and get involved!

The best is yet to come: throughout Ron Paul’s campaign, we have made contacts and founded relationships that we can build upon to further our movement. Several R3V0Lutionaries are already making use of this by actively running, announcing a run or exploring the option of running for public office.

Jason Thompson of the Atlanta Ron Paul Meetup #294 is running for Georgia’s 7th Congressional District; for more information, visit http://votejasonthompson.us/. Thomas Rambo, a talented videographer and creator of the Georgia Grassroots Ron Paul ads, has announced his candidacy for the Georgia House of Representatives General Assembly in the 32nd District, running against the incumbent Judy Manning. Many others have expressed interest (I will afford them anonymity until they make a formal announcement); if you are considering becoming a candidate, I would like to hear from you.

We must continue this movement- and we will. This R3V0LUTION is unstoppable!

Your friend in liberty,
~Amanda J. Waterman

Dear Georgia Ron Paul Supporters,

We had an upbeat and exciting Hope for America Rally yesterday, Saturday February 2nd with about 300+ Ron Paul supporters in attendance. Fox News (yep) and Public Broadcasting TV sent reporters and cameramen to record the event.

Rand Paul, Ron Paul’s son, made an inspiring and hopeful message of success in our campaign. Rousing speeches were made by Mark Augustyn, Ike Hall, Martha Mellon, James Bell, John Zientowski, David Chastain, Eddie Mayfield, Garrett M. Hayes, Warren Van Nus, Lance Lamberton and Garland Favorito. There was music by the Alan Yates Band and Stone Jones. The Granny Warriors, with bus, were there! Several supporters autographed the bus which is an amazing display of the R3VOLUTION in action!

Besides reminding us all of why we are in this campaign (Freedom, Peace and Prosperity) there was an update on our progress in the elections. Rand Paul brought home the fact that the elections results in many states have been good (second in Nevada, for example) and we are looking forward to big wins on Super Tuesday. Garland Favorito (www.voterga.org) has filed suit with the State of Georgia regarding the use of computer voting machines. He urges us all to be pollers at the voting sites and to try to vote on the same numbered machine at each precinct. That way we can all vouch that we voted for Ron Paul and where the votes can be found.

One way to do this, because its February 5, is to vote on a machine which has a number that is #5 or adds up to 5 (14 for example: 1+4=5, or : 2+3=5) easy to remember. So tell your precinct captains at which numbered machine you voted so they can tell everyone else.

Our very own campaign organizers, Ike and Mark, spread the word of liberty to all while introducing the various speakers. Representatives from all over the state were present to encourage the campaign. Our widely diverse group of supporters enables us with potential to grow in many different hotbed issues at once. Represented at the rally were Ron Paul supporters who are Pro-Constitution, anti-war, pro-free trade, against the war on drugs, pro-homeschooling, for the abolition of the Federal Reserve and the IRS and fighting for a fair vote amongst others. We are vitally involved in many core issues that can be all be addressed with RON PAUL for PRESIDENT.

They clearly presented Dr. Ron Paul’s stand on the issues in a substantive discussion. The interviewer is Rick Ryder, the talk show host of the Morning Ryde. The station manager is Coley Voyles. If only all of our media was like this! Congratulations, and let’s win Georgia for Ron Paul!

Rand Paul, the son of Republican presidential candidate and Texas Congressman Ron Paul will speak at a Ron Paul Rally this Saturday in Atlanta, Georgia.

Rand Paul is the middle son of Ron Paul. Like his father, he is a physician. Dr. Paul’s professional field is eye surgery, though he also has a penchant for politics. The younger Dr. Paul also is involved in health care reform and founded the Southern Kentucky Lions Eye Clinic which provides eye surgery and exams for those who otherwise cannot afford proper care.

The rally will be on the Westside steps of the State Capitol Building, Saturday, February 2, at 12:30 pm EST.

I am delighted with the level of involvement and support for our Precinct Leader effort thus far! It has been truly inspirational to learn of so many involved in this unprecedented program, and to hear their success stories from all over the state! North, South, West and East- our Precinct Leaders have been working hard to get the message out!

Super Tuesday is closing in fast, and we’re geared for our biggest push yet to get Ron Paul’s message out to the many that are desperate for something better than the “change” that other candidates keep prattling on about- Ron Paul offers us a return to the way things should be- the way they were.

Many that vote in the Primary do not even begin to research their candidate or make their decision on who to vote for until the final week leading up to it. This is to our advantage- we have supplies, we have signs, all we need is to get it all out on the street where it belongs! This is where you come in.

This is our call to arms. Ron Paul needs you to help spread the message of hope, freedom and prosperity that- as evidenced by our success thus far- so many are eager to hear.

If you haven’t done so yet, please sign up to be a Precinct Leader at http://voters.ronpaul2008.com/grassroots.
