Campaign for President of the United States

“As someone who has sworn an oath to protect the Constitution, I have been progressively alarmed and angered by the inexorable erosion of my right s as a citizen and the rights of states, counties, and municipalities as collective bodies by the federal government.  Our system of government used to ensure that the greatest amount of control over our daily lives was wielded by people to whom we had the easiest access and over whom we wielded the greatest amount of control — namely, mayors, burghers, city councilmen, etc.  Below that level — and I do mean below — was the county, state, and finally the federal government, each wielding a decreasing level of power.  Somehow in the last 150 years or so, this has been reversed, first by subterfuge, then by coercion, and finally by bald usurption.  With legislators pronouncing our Constitution obsolete, the executive branch ignoring it completely, and the judicial branch at best doing nothing or at worst grossly overstepping its authority, I believe it is time to put someone in the White House who believes as I do.  The United States became great because it adhered to the axiom: “that government is best that governs least.”  Our economy cannot survive another four years of “business as usual,” and I want to elect someone who understands the economy, understands and upholds the Constitution, and consistently acts with sincerity, integrity, and honor.  Ron Paul is the only candidate who fits that description.  He is therefore the only candidate I am prepared to support.  God bless America and Ron Paul and speed him to victory in 2008!”
