Blog Comments

I know that it’s very easy to post a comment that has nothing to do with the original subject being blogged about, and a lot of times good information is presented this way, but it can be a little aggravating for people when comments cover a thousand unrelated topics, and I’ve noticed that aggravation recently. I have found many good pieces and tidbits through unrelated comments on blog topics, but for the future, I would just ask that if your comment covers another topic than the one being reported by the blog post, please put a short header of “Off Topic” on the top of the comment. To make it easy for people, maybe you could put a quick summary of what your comment covers, i.e. “Off Topic - Cool New Ron Paul Video.” Thanks!

Sorry if someone already posted about this but, did anyone see The Daily Show yesterday? McCain was the guest and said “Ron Paul is still in this race.” Jon Stewart said “Really?”

C’mon Jon Stewart can’t be that out of touch. Anyway it was interesing that McCain brought it up himself.

    Matt,

You’re right, and I’m guilty of doing it.

On another note, If a decent digital video camera became available could the campaign use it to film the good Dr’s speeches?. There are a lot of quality complaints about videos. If there are no funds available it could be loaned.

    O.M.G. film?

Once upon a blog ago somebody posted a very helpful list of the dates the stimulus checks are scheduled to be mailed out based on the last 2 digits of ss#’s. Would you please post that again so I can forward it to some people I know. I brag about all of you and always reference “The Daily Dose” as my resource.

If you care about Ron Paul this blog should delete every post about conspiracy theories. Let me tell you guys something. When someone comes here interested about Ron Paul and all they see are comments about trying to take down the Invisible Lizards who secretly control the Illuminati who are trying to brainwash us with secret alien signals sent through our radios, they close the window, and never come back. You guys are killing Ron Paul and have been since the start.

    Steven,

I was one of those that came here and I have never seen a post about what you described and I have been reading post for about 3 months. I am an intelligent, independent woman, who makes her own choices about “truth”. This movement is for everyone. I read an article on the internet yesterday re: our delegates in Nevada. When did freedom and prosperity become available only for those who “play the part”? You are sounding like the old established GOP. This is America. We are a melting pot of many. You know what I love about our movement? I love it that people with many different beliefs can come together and fight for freedom. I don’t believe in the Lizard’s, but guess what, some people don’t believe in Jesus Christ either. Who cares, the only thing that matters is that we get are freedom and liberty back so we are free to believe whatever it is we want to believe. And in defense of those that have conspiracy theories, when your government steals and lies to you, it can make it hard to know what reality is. Most of us want to believe “our government” is looking out for “our” best interest. But with all the lies and manipulations that have occurred, people don’t trust the government anymore and are looking for the truth. Some have found truth here, with Dr. Paul and the Freedom Movement. I understand your frustration, but honestly, if those people were really looking for true answers to our country’s problems, a few lizards wont scare them off.

  16. Danielle K in Texas Says:

    Well said, Patty!

Frankly, I don’t know anymore where the conspiracy theories stop and the reality begins. Much of what I used to dismiss as crazy talk has panned out to be true. Some people think it’s a conspiracy theory when people talk about the NAU or the Amero, but there is documented proof that both are are on the way. Some people think that discussions about the Bilderberg Group, the Trilateral Commission, and the Council on Foreign Relations are conspiratorial in nature, but research again proves that these entities have indeed worked to erode our nation’s sovereignty and our personal liberties.

As Patty so eloquently stated, we are all free to believe whatever we choose to believe. Most can agree, however, that something is really wrong with this country and it will take alot of work by alot of patriots to put America back on the path the Founders intended. In order to cure the country, we must be careful to properly diagnose the problems to make sure we strike at the root cause and not just hack away meaninglessly at the leaves & branches, which will only regrow despite all our efforts. If we dismiss everything we hear that sounds a little strange at first as ‘conspiracy theory’, we risk uncovering an important piece to the puzzle that will allow us to defeat whoever is responsible for the mess we find ourselves in today. Many such possibilities may well prove to be false, but if any one thing is true, do we not owe it to ourselves, the generations that fought to secure our freedoms, and future generations who would very much like to enjoy those same freedoms, to engage in a relentless pursuit of the truth?

Ron Paul has said that the only two choices for nations are freedom and tyranny. If we believe our freedoms have been stripped from us (all for our own good of course), then that must mean that for every step we take away from freedom, we take a step toward tyranny. Is it a conspiracy theory, then, that America is spiraling toward tyrannical rule, complete with a police state mentality, disregard for personal liberties, property rights, and national sovereignty? There may be a difference of opinion about the cause of this shift away from freedom and toward tyranny, but surely the underlying premise can be clearly seen by anyone who bothers to look for it.

Personally, in all of my research to date, I have never once run across anyone believing in invisible lizards and alien radio signals. Brainwashing through clever use of the media, however, is entirely plausible. Too many people only believe what they see and hear coming from that black box in their living room, and that is a powerful tool in the hands of anyone wanting to shift public opinion in any particular direction. Just look at what was accomplished by the mainstream media’s neglect of Ron Paul (less than 5,000 mentions in the 12 months preceding the primaries) compared to their coverage of John McCain (nearly 100,000 mentions of his name during the same time period). Can anyone claim, during this age of American Idol and reality TV, that this type of uneven coverage has had zero effect on the outcomes at the polls? That is the ‘brainwashing’ that I think most people refer to - not tin-foil hats receiving malicious messages from little green men.

    Rick - Funny stuff!

Question - is anything ‘off topic’ on this particular post??? Perhaps a ‘miscellaneous’ post like this could be bumped up to where it stays on the main blog page & anyone wanting to post something ‘off topic’ could post away? Just a thought - I do like Matt’s idea of a quick summary line so that people know if they want to bother reading a post irrelevant to the current thread.

Rick: Are you a political cartoonist? That second one was priceless! The text totally captures how many people feel after they’ve chosen the red pill instead. Uh-oh, here we go on that conspiracy theory stuff again! Still, I think it’s just true enough to make people think, yet playful in nature - spoof-like - making it a little easier to swallow. You should make it into a T-shirt design - there’d be a huge market for it, I bet! Although, no one but Steven and those of us on this thread would know what in the heck the Invisible Lizard thing is all about!

Matt: Glad to hear there’s an exception on this one because it has gone way off track! Thanks again for all you do! Do you update the home page or just the blog? It seems that the #1 on NYT should be on the home page. Any more MSM coverage of this exciting news?

However as Matt stated in the header, there has been a tremendous amount of good info that may not necessarily pertain to the topic imbedded within any particular blog. To Steven Benjamin:

My friend, there is a group of persons who are interested in overthrowing liberty in America and throughout the world. As a Mormon, I KNOW this is TRUE because the Book of Mormon warns us about this very thing. Also, there have been many studies showing this wityh many websites that can be linked to.

To deny this and “be afraid” to tell others about it (they can certainly study the “proofs” on their own), IMO is cowardly and unproductive. When folks really understand how seriouys this battle is, they get excited and do soemthing other than complain.

I am thinking that if Ron Paul doesn’t get the nomination that is not all bad. By staying in the GOP race we are given the best platform possible to get the freedom message out to the voters. Now that Chuck Baldwin is a candidate…lets say he chooses the Judge or Jessie as VP that would leave Dr Paul in Congress doing what he does best. We would then have 3 Patriotic men in DC fighting for the Constitution. That makes me feel warm and fuzzy all over.

When I look at American politics with millions of voters re-electing the same crooks who are selling them out over and over again, I think maybe there really is a Reptilian Mother ship orbiting somewhere up there. The more I think about it the more everything makes since. Sometimes I swear I can see a straight vertical Iris on those Fox news girls.

This one is not a theory……..The Neo-Cons are going to be routed in November. We must be ready to step up and fill the political void in 2010 and 2012.

I realize that a lot of you may not care for AOL, however, their polls are usually pretty close to what the public if feeling. There is a poll for “How much of a role should Paul be allowed to play at the convention?” Just 5 minutes ago it was 47% (A Big One) I just looked again and here are the current results
    A big one 48%
    No role 27%
    A modest one 17%
    Medium 8%
The American people are finally waking up. Hopefully, not to late!

Received my MANIFESTO today. Read about fifteen pages in one shot (that’s impressive for me). If people ignore the things I’ve only read so far, this country is already gone. Ron Paul will go down in my history book as a living version of the men of old. He certainly deserves to be called more than a kooky fringe candidate. He puts ALL the others to shame. He cured my apathy and showed me there are solutions to the country’s major issues. And the funny thing is it won’t cost a damn thing, we’ll actually save money.
