Crossing the 1 million mark

Last night, Dr. Paul received over 40,000 votes in North Carolina (8%), and over 30,000 votes in Indiana (also 8%), putting his vote total officially over 1,000,000!

I find it interesting that no matter what we do we get 7-8%. Does that sound fishy?

Excellent million mark….the surge is working. I think all future debates and interviews should show on display in the background each candidates voting record as they speak. This will really show how they say one thing and vote another way. The candidates are taking us for fools. It’s time to see some real investigative reporting done on voting records. let the people know where their candidate stands and has stood. Ron Paul will really stand strong and McCain’s true socialist views will finally surface to the uninformed voters.

On the topic of vote totals:
Democrats are out voting republicans 4 to 1. With strong opposition from the Dems (and most others), McCain and the type of admisitration he supports will be soundedly trounced in November. I think a one on one debate between McCain and either candidate (obama/hilary) would also be devastating. He’ll blow his lid, or say some assinine comment and hand the presidency over to the dem candidate.

There’s simply no way McCain will win in november, so why should republicans continue running towards the edge of the cliff, even when they know its coming? Get off now and get behind ron paul.

The AOL straw poll does change every Monday, I keep close track. Monday morning 11:30 Central time the vote was like 600 for McCain and 250 for Paul. People for Ron Paul are so conspiratorial they just hurt themselves and the Revolution. Even if AOL poll is not correct, on participation just makes the results worst. Licking our egos is not helping any cause especially a war against the establishment.

As for Tuesday results McCain got 75% just like in Pennsylvania, The difference is Ron Paul did little to no marketing, Republicans still distrust Ron as he is not getting the message of his correct national defense position out. That blame is directly to national for advertising and Ron Paul for not stumping the primary states as needed to let voters know Ron is running has a good defense policy. Why do you folks expect MSM to hold a love fest for Ron Paul all the way to Whitehouse?

Now go vote on the AOL poll and have every other Ron Paul friend you know participate also.

Before I even clicked on ‘comments’, I thought this is really weird - after seeing what’s already been posted, I can see I wasn’t alone.

We got exactly 1/2 the percentage of the vote than we got in PA in BOTH Indiana & NC? In both states, Huckabee beats RP by nearly the same percentage after placing behind him in PA (even though he ’suspended’ his campaign before any of these primaries)? McCain is losing around 1/4 of the vote everywhere after garnering only 43% of all the GOP votes up to & including the PA vote? Sounds to me like the voting machines might have been rigged to throw a higher percentage of RP votes into the McCain tally - the numbers used in PA allowed him to get too many and legitamized him too much.

i still think the important thing is that 25% of republicans do not supoprt McCain. how do the neo-cons expect to win if ‘their’ party won’t support their hand picked nominee? McCain should be polling in the low 90’s considering he’s got the noimnation sealed up, according to just about everybody.

on a side note, provisional ballots were available at my polling location in Indiana yesterday; sitting right out on the table.

Please consider that there are more items on the ballot than the presidential primary. Many local and state issues are also dealt with.

I agree with tim in minnesota that there is an awful lot of conspiratorial comments on here. I like to keep a healthy skepticism and this campaign has opened my eyes to the MSM and other questionable practices I never considered before But, let’s keep this real. There aren’t monsters in every closet.

Marilyn, please don’t take this personally. I generally enjoy your posts. I have just been feeling this way for a little while now about a lot of what I read on this blog. They do little to help us move forward, in my opinion.

Where are the McCain voters ? They seem to be a very silent group. Ron Paul campaigners seem to be prominent everywhere. Also it is amazing the number of voters who think Ron Paul is not in the race. This indicates the number of people who literally think that if it ain’t on TV, then it ain’t so. Whatever happened to the concept of an educated/informed citizenry ?? Is it true to say that the population of Rep voters get their opinions about everything from the commercial television stations. This is a disaster for the US as a society. It seems that the standard of intellectual discussion amongst politicians is declining drastically. It is now reduced to a list of soundbites. And it seems that only the Democrats are taking the political debates seriously.

Eli is correct - the Dems will wipe the floor against McCain in a debate. Kind of worrying, should he then become President. How will he handle international leaders at various international events ???

  16. PJ Says:

1 million voters voted for Ron Paul because of their convictions. Convictions about what government and state power is really about. Convictions that this is defined in the Constitution. Convictions that there is a concept called liberty. And that this concept co-exists with concepts like freedom, responsibility, morality, equality, charity, innovation and respectfulness. 1 million people whose convictions are about creating the best possible future for American society. This is better than millions voting the way they always voted, mostly because they detest the alternative, more than because they like those for whom they cast their votes.

The Ron Paul Revolution is about values. It is about the rebirth of values. The Italian Renaissance started in the region near Florence in the 1400s. It was an awakening of values, of principles, of the pursuit of the human inner greatness. Eventually it spread to people who never knew of Italy.
The Ron Paul Revolution is also about values. The result of the Republican Convention is not the end of the story. The Revolution keeps going in members of congress and representatives, at federal, state, city and county level. Who are dedicated to rebuilding America from within. Rebuiliding the infrastructure. Rebuilding the social values. Ending the economic maladjustments created by market interventions. Ending the indebtedness. Ending the borrowing. Ending the poor standards in the education system.
The Ron Paul Revolution is not about soundbites, apologies, denouncements of former cronies, changing positions, lying to the people, rubber stamping laws that nobody ever reads, copying your opponents strategy, focus groups, demographics, trying to play the race card (both ways), doing nothing when in office, overstating your ‘acheivements’, appealing to swing voters, or pandering to lobbyists.
It is what Stehen Covey called the ‘cult of character’ defeating the ‘cult of personaility’.
It is about you educating yourself as to what is right, what is best for US society. And you take this and you carry this forward. And raise the level of awareness and discussion.

    From the AP today:

The dollar’s protracted decline against the euro and other foreign currencies has played a major role in oil’s rise by attracting investors looking for a hedge against inflation. When the dollar reverses course and strengthens, the effect usually reverses, sending oil prices lower.

At the pump, meanwhile, the average national price of a gallon of regular gas rose Wednesday for the first time since last week, adding 0.8 cent to $3.618, according to a survey of stations by AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. Gas prices are back within a cent of the record $3.623 a gallon set last week, and are expected to rise to an average of $3.73 a gallon next month, according to the latest Energy Department forecast.

Some analysts predict prices could rise to a national average of $4 in coming weeks; prices are already that high in some areas, including parts of Hawaii and California.

At what point are average people going to care and ask the 3 other candidates why this is happening??

Mark in FL: My post about the rigging of the voting machines was tongue-in-cheek as I’m sure that RP’s low numbers are not entirely - if at all - due to fraud of this nature. I don’t believe I’ve ever posted anything else that could be construed as conspiratorial, but sometimes things just line up to make you wonder if perhaps at least a small part of what the ‘conspiracy theorists’ say just might be true. I’ve watched the voting machine hacking videos on youtube & honestly, I don’t know what to think anymore. You have to admit that the way the numbers are playing out everywhere, as compared to the numbers of delegates participating in the process beyond casting their vote, is a little strange. What accounts for it? I don’t know. My feeling is it’s a combination of factors and that some sort of voter fraud / machine manipulation might play only a small role, if it does indeed exist.

The reason I’ve become more suspicious on this particular issue is that it could be so easily rectified, but alternatives aren’t even considered. Why is it not possible to vote on paper ballots, counted by multiple people in full view of any voter wishing to observe the counting? Why is it not possible to have the machine dispense a paper receipt? They are made by the same people who make ATM’s, yet these machines were designed without the safeguarding feature of a paper trail. Why? We would never stand for an ATM that did not issue a receipt to use to reconcile our records with the bank statements - how would we be assured only legitimate transactions were posted? When it comes to protecting our money, we stand up for our rights. Yet, when it comes to protecting our vote, ensuring it was counted - and counted correctly - we accept whatever means we are given, no questions asked.

The machines should produce 2 receipts, one for the voter to keep for their records and one to be deposited into a ballot box at the polling station. The receipts in the box should be tallied by election workers and compared to the machine results in full view of any voter who choses to be present at the time the polls close. There are many other possible solutions, but none are ever presented. We are forced to used these machines, which have been proven to be unsecure and which produce no paper trail. Why?

I would like to say that I was finally able to meet Dr.Paul in Fort Wayne on Monday. It was very humbling to say the least.
It left me with a new desire to push the messege!
So, during our primary on Tuesday, I wore my revolution shirt to the polls as did my wife. Now I know this is probably not the appropriate thing to do but, we wanted to show our support and I am glad that I did!
My wife and I walked up to the polling table and I had to ask for a provisional ballot for her as she did not have the proper ID.
The pollster started to shake her head no. My being a delegate said “what do you mean NO!
She stated that she didn’t know what it was and asked the lady next to her what it was. This lady didn’t know either and said that you need to go ask Pat, which we did.
Pat didn’t know either and had to look it up.
Once she found out what to do, she had my wife fill out this envelope and gave her a ballot card.
Me being wary of the voting process as it stands started to look at how the numbers weren’t matching on the card and the ballot. I said let me see that. It was a Democratic ballot!
I told my wife to take it over as she must have made a mistake. Do you know what “Pat” said? She said OH, I didn’t think there was a difference, actually she hadn’t given one provisonal ballot out for a Republican, they were all Demoracts, even if you were a Republican. They actually had given the first one for a Republican to my wife.
My wife did ask her about the mix up and if it had occured to other voters, she stumbled around and never answered.
I am going to file a grievance with the local and state board today!!!

    What a debacle!

Conspiracy theories aside, a million votes for freedom is a tremendous victory for Ron Paul and the Revolution! I just finished reading ‘The Revolution: A Manifesto”. I had to dry my eyes after reading the dedication page. Of all those he could have chosen to recognize, he chose us! I felt a very personal connection to the book and its author from that point forward. My daughter is 1/2-way through her copy and is doing a project on it for her last book report of the year (7th grade).

One million freedom lovers is a fantastic start to building a core group. It is our job to continue to spread the message - how can we possibly stop now? We still have a few primaries remaining and the next big step in bringing attention to this urgent cause is the March on DC. See you all on July 12th! I think the idea of a paper receipt is excellent, especially if it was bar coded or in some way marked as unique so that an independent firm could audit the results through a collection of a sampling of receipts compared to the official database of votes cast. No personal nformation would need ot be collected, juts the fact that candidate x was voted for at location y at date and time z on terminal w.

Greeting fellow Dr Paul supporters. For the past few weeks I’ve been digging for some sort of rules about media representation of political candidates.
I think I have found something in the FCC rules for poli candidates.
The language is unfortunately Legalese. Is there anyone of the million of us that can just do a quick read through and tell me is there is anything of value.
Something in the wording leads me to believe that if any means of broadcast uses a candidates name, all other certified candidates must be allowed the same coverage.

What accounts for disparity between primary vote results and Ron Paul delegates is participation. Ignorant Americans vote on primary day, then think the popular vote (in caucus states) dictates delegate selection and corresponding candidate support. The national GOP knows the delegate truth, has counted the delegate Ron Paul support around the country. Now is trying to stamp out legitimate Ron Paul national delegate support prior to the national convention.

Especially in caucus states participation (and Ron Paul has much) is the delegate key. Even better, like Minnesota the national delegates are not bound to any candidate on the first ballot. The GOP knows they have no rules to control Minnesota national delegate voting preference. Delegates vote how they see fit.

I do not see a reason to edit anyone’s comments here. It is supposed to be a free flow of thoughts, ideas, encouragement, concerns, etc…..No one needs to be concerned that their comments are too “conspiracy” oriented or that they have to stay “positive”. I believe that to only be “positive” loses a good part of the discussion and does not make the negative less true…..to not look at the underpinnings of our world or the various factions out there does not help us address the issues of concern…it would be like fighting half a battle. The only way to get through all of this and ensure true change is to know as many as or all the angles possible. Knowledge is power. Knowledge w/wisdom is true power. No more burying our heads in the sand.

I like the links and info I get from these blogs. I like to hear people’s opinions/views. I like becoming more informed and doing what I can. If I didn’t know some of these things, then I would not feel able/compelled to become part of the change. Keep on posting.
