From a blogger on the delegate process in Minnesota:
From a blogger on the delegate process in Minnesota:
“In Minnesota it has been a rather quiet revolution, but a revolution nonetheless. Ron Paul’s followers show up regularly on radio call-in shows. But their real impact may be percolating just below the surface of MN grassroots politics. Wright County’s delegation to CD6 consists of an estimated 81% Ron Paul devotees. Wright County’s delegation to the State Convention consists of an estimated 60% Ron Paul devotees. That’s a recipe for a dramatic impact no matter how you look at it.”
Ladies and Gentlemen, the good news continues. Make sure you sign up to be a delegate if you are from Idaho, Mississippi, New Mexico, Utah, and Vermont.

Thank you for the good report from Minnesota. The best of luck there.
March 21st, 2008 at 3:50 pm
I have signed up to become a precinct commiteeman. So my name will be on the May 27th ballot. Then we will get to choose our delegates after the primary. We are working real hard in our county to make this happen. Good luck all…we can do this.
March 21st, 2008 at 4:12 pm
Please correct me if I am wrong, but I thought McInsane, won the republican nominee by having enough delegates. there fore at the convention we do not have a chance in winning back the nominee.. correct..?
March 21st, 2008 at 4:12 pm
From CD4(I think, saint paul area), we got 1/8 delegates, and about 5/16 alternates.
March 21st, 2008 at 4:26 pm
Colette,
If we have enough delegates and are convincing enough, we can vote to unbind everyone at the convention… at least that’s what this guy says: http://www.dailypaul.com/node/36650
At the very least, we can vote on party platform stuff. Most Republicans agree with the majority of RP’s platform and vote to include it in the GOP platform (if it’s not already there), they just need some work to show them the light on foreign policy instead of swallowing neocon lies and short-sightedness (which is all they hear on talk radio, and other “conservative” media).
March 21st, 2008 at 4:29 pm
Dan K, the CD 4 Convention hasn’t happened yet. Those results must be from your Senate District or something.
March 21st, 2008 at 4:43 pm
Jim, Yes, unless McCane already has 1191, and from what I understand he does.. true or false, I am not sure, however, I believe Rand has said he can not win the election..?? Ron Paul has also stated that. I’m confused. Is the strategy to let the mass media believe that? Besides, they will lie cheat and steal at the convention, right in front of our faces..
March 21st, 2008 at 5:22 pm
Colette,
I’m of the opinion, that until one man/woman is taking the oath of office, we don’t know anything. To me, this means we should remain ever vigilant in our efforts to educate, and revolutionize this country.
Don’t worry about all of the verbiage given by all the pundits. The fact is, we have a tremendous grassroots organization, that is unmatched by the other candidates. The revolution is to take our country back, we could quit now and say “we achieved so much more than we expected” or we can continue on, and take our chances at the convention. SIX MONTHS remain…this thing isn’t over.
We are making noise, and that noise is starting to be heard, next it will have to be acted upon. Stay focused and let no one deter you. President Bush has an entire country telling him to bring our military home, yet he remains. That is the resolve of those we wish to replace. We must exceed that resolve.
March 21st, 2008 at 5:37 pm
Carl, yes I agree, and as I do not believe all the pundits,, I believe Rand and Ron have stated otherwise. Onward to the convention.
March 21st, 2008 at 6:18 pm
Ah yes, spring is in the air! Young Ladies out in their skimpy little summer wear looking so fine!
what convention?
March 21st, 2008 at 6:34 pm
Excellent, but we are doing well lots of places, but still need more DELEGATES!
1. Sign up
2. Show up
3. If you cannot show up, still sign up
4. If you cannot become a delegate, sign up to be an alternate
5. If it’s to late, become a Volunteer
You know what? It is working, it is easy, and this is action that RP will need at the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis-Saint Paul the first week in September.
This is more then only talk - it is real action. Start here today:
dailypaul(DOT)com/node/36650
And if you cannot do 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5, pimp someone to do it for you.
At least forward the link to minimum 10 potential delegates. That I’m sure you can do.
This is the core of the useful things to do. Way more useful then all this talk. Because DELEGATES=POWER.
Yes, we know it’s working, and may be way easier than you think too. Just get people out of their chairs please - to get RP some real help before the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis the first week in Sep.
March 21st, 2008 at 7:03 pm
Look out everyone. The Ron Paul team in Washington State is scoring big across the state in their local legislative districts. If numbers hold like I am hearing from all over WA it looks like we may have nearly half the delegates at the WA Republican Convention in Spokane, WA in late May. That bodes very well for Ron Paul to possibly take all the WA delegates at the national convention.
To those of you who haven’t attended your legislative caucuses in WA, be sure you do and make yourself known to other Ron Paul supporters to vote you in as a delegate.
March 21st, 2008 at 8:31 pm
Colette, take several hours and research the bound and UNbound delegates. Check out party rules vs actual laws. Study the convention, history of the convention, and delegate revolt. Work hard, educate others, and pray for our next and greatest President Ron Paul. Also Mccain does NOT have and can Not get enough (1191) bound delegates.

Folks,
Be sure to visit this AOL straw poll website and vote for Ron Paul each week. The poll resets each Tuesday morning, so return and let America know we are more than 200 supporters of Ron Paul. Also, email to your Ron Paul friends to participate.

I am finding it a little more difficult to promote Ron Paul head on (either minds are made up, they think he dropped out, or they say Ron Paul is a wasted vote). They don’t understand the issues and aren’t aware of what Ron Paul represents. I am using a new tactic. It’s working well and I believe it will improve our base for local government, delegates, and onto DC.
People are concerned with the economy and tax day is coming…I am using that as a lead in to Aaron Russo’s America:Freedom to Fascism. DVD’s are on sale (til April 15th?) in bulk $1.00 each. http://aftfmovie.com. You can google the movie for free.
Once they are educated…(Ron Paul is in the movie) then they will be open to learn about the One candidate who will represent them in this election, Ron Paul.
I consider this my monthly campaign donation. I also ordered small constitutions to give away. I am finding that new recruits aren’t willing to buy 50 DVD’s so they are buying 10 at a time from me. I will be ordering more often, but that’s ok, keeps me out of trouble.
March 21st, 2008 at 11:27 pm
Re; ^above post….for those who aren’t aware, Freedom to Fascism is a professionally made DVD showing that the IRS and income tax is illegal. For a catch phrase I mention (subject line of email) that there is a $50,000 reward for anyone who can find the law that allows the federal government to charge the average working citizen for his labor. The $50,000 is mentioned in the DVD by an ex-IRS agent who knows the Truth. Not in the constitution.
If only our churches would show this DVD…Christian “Bush” voters don’t know what conservative really means.
March 21st, 2008 at 11:43 pm
I heard on Coast to Coast with George Norey that Ron Paul is going to be on the show Monday night! That is a wonderful way to reach millions of listeners!
March 21st, 2008 at 11:58 pm
Re: Constitution Petition
Good job on the signatures up from 1510 (on the 20th) to 1699. We need more, a million would be impressive. Send to fellow Paulites. http://www.grannywarriors.com/rally.htm (scroll to bottom of page).
PS: I wonder if DC banned hand guns because they know that people are Fed UP with the Fed.

Since you have this information already, why not set up a spreadsheet by state and make it available to everyone? It doesn’t make sense to me to have everyone “reinvent the wheel.”

I appreciate Collette asking questions about the delegates. I have also wondered if the 1191 that the media says Mc—has is a total of bound and unbound, or just bound. And if he does not actually have that required number, don’t other candidates (and himself) know that. And if they know that, why is he being called the nominee? Like I said yesterday about another matter, I don’t mind asking questions. I have been studying the site below. But how is the media getting away with saying he has 1191?

Marilyn,
I would suppose that the MSM, can and will say anything that they want to if they think it will slow down what appears to be a slow, but steady rally to Ron Paul. They own the football, and they play the game anyway they choose, and it certainly is obvious by now, they don’t like what Ron Paul represents. I think it is like others have said, if you hear the same thing enough times, you begin to believe it, and frankly, I would not believe one damn thing these people say, and question EVERYTHING. If you look at the progress we have made, I personally would just ignore what is being written, and keep on doing what we are doing and see what happens. In spite of however it turns out, we are right, we know the costs of doing nothing, and are probably the only group that has any chance to derail the plans of a government that doesn’t give a tinkers damn about it’s citizens.

Anisha may be right, guys. She posted at 10:09pm last night. I haven’t noticed her name before, and I have heard from another person close to the campaign say that we need to watch what we say as far as details, etc.
March 23rd, 2008 at 8:21 am
Marilyn,
I was wondering the same thing about why the media says he is the nominee without mentioning delegates and I think it’s because they themselves do not undertsand how the process really works. Many of us don’t quite understand it. I think we give too much credit to the media for having all this knowledge when in reality they aren’t that knowledgeable about particulars. I would bet McCain himself doesn’t even get it. He is just looking for power so as long as he feels secure about that then he doesn’t feel he needs to learn about anything else. If that’s correct then it is to Ron Paul’s advantage. We have the knowledge, which is the real power.

The typical reporter and news organization is (1) very lazy and ignorant, (2) ideologically bound to a facist form of govt, (3) scared to buck the PTB and (4) practice a “herd mentality.
FYI, journalism schools are KNOWN in the academic world as having among the lowest academic standards of any discipline. The losers (those who can’t perform high academically) gravitate to journalism.

Marilyn in Lake Jackson - perhaps your quandry can best be answered by Matt Hawes - but we seem to be the only open campaign in existence. None of the ‘opposition’ is ever going to defuse my enthusiasm for Dr. Paul and how can they really stop us? This blog is open to all - even plants, how honest is that? If being open is hurting something the campaign headquarters is doing - just have them let us know and do a members only column somewhere - but this is what keeps our spirits alive and growing.

n.c. Beason,
Regarding your comment about the MSM and repetition…. people are buying red ink stamps on-line and stamping all of their money “Vote Ron Paul 08″. Talk about repetition and name recognition.
March 24th, 2008 at 8:32 am
Asking people to become delegates, go to the various levels of Republican conventions (which cost increasingly admission dollars). In addition, commit to national the convention, which requires flying to Saint Paul, a week of lost work, $1,500.00 in hotel and admission costs, eating out for a week.
Therefore, the national campaign is asking the average person, fed up with government corruption and excess to invest about $2,800.00 each as national delegates just to change the Republican Party.
I watch the HQ COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR; spew “we lost the nomination” as the new slogan. Leadership, vision, faith, drive, tenacity, force, hope, action, courage, hard work. How about the COMMUNICAITONS DIRECTOR or even HQ get a hold of these words and inspire a revolution. All I saw from the interview with the communications director is defeat and resignation, pull the plug, and pass a couple resolutions at the national convention. Why would anyone in the remaining states vote for self-defeated national campaign.
My version of the interview the Ron Paul campaign communications director would have been something like this:
Question: Is Ron Paul still running for president and if so why?
Answer: HE.. YES, this country is being flushed down the toilet daily by our president, congress. In addition my three other remaining presidential appoints will continue this direction. America cannot wait another election cycle without passing a point of no return of her demise. The wisdom, understanding, vision, and record to save our great country of ours from self-destruction found in Ron Paul.
This network and the balance of MSM have an obligation to cover Ron Paul’s campaign daily, providing fair and balanced coverage. So far, the MSM has measurably failed, but his interview is a good start. Now when can we schedule a 1/2 hour exclusive with your show next week and Ron Paul in your studio?
In addition, McCain only has 531 committed delegates as of today. I do not foresee McCain gaining the 1192 committed delegates needed for the convention as Ron Paul support is gaining Romney and Huckabee delegates to our cause daily around the country. You just wait and see, and again when next week can we schedule an exclusive interview with Fox News?
Now this is a presidential interview, anything less is appeasing the revolution base.
March 24th, 2008 at 2:03 pm
I’m just waiting for Maccain to implode. Possible that he can loose all these bound delegates in Tx. because of this mess with FEC
