Obama’s Flag
Fox 26 in Houston gets some footage of the opening of Barack Obama’s Houston offices. And look at what’s up there on the wall:
Yes, that’s a Cuban flag, emblazoned with an image of Che Guevara, Fidel Castro’s old comrade in Communist terror. (Two good books on the real Che, not the sanitized Hollywood myth, are Alvaro Vargas Llosa’s The Che Guevara Myth and Humberto Fontova’s Exposing the Real Che Guevara.)
Che is a popular symbol on many college campuses, as well as among lefty Democratic presidential candidates, and when many young people think of “revolution,” they think of Che. Ron Paul, however, has made huge strides in showing young people that revolution shouldn’t mean romanticizing a hirsute Communist, it should mean returning to the principles of the American revolution — life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness. Obama’s movement, on the other hand, stands for something very different. The stakes could not be higher in the battle between Ron Paul and Barack Obama for the hearts and minds of America’s young people, as this picture shows.

Obama proves he’s a tool of the international collectivists.
February 11th, 2008 at 7:43 pm
That won’t be repeated in MSM. It will be censored. Obama is the media’s darling. However Dr. Paul quoted Trotsky in his message on February 8. Should have quoted Thomas Paine. I’m not being nitpicky. I am 100% for Dr. Paul for President and for Congress. Just get in office!

That about says it all, doesn’t it? This needs a category, at least under the ‘reality check’ category? So folks might find it again later.

Mike Huckabee Supported Real ID Act
By Mary Benoit
Published: 2008-02-04 19:16 Email this page | printer friendly version
ARTICLE SYNOPSIS:
Former Arkansas Governor and current presidential candidate, Mike Huckabee, supported the implementation of the REAL ID Act in 2005.
Follow this link to the original source: “National Governors Association - Letter”
COMMENTARY:
In a letter to Michael Chertoff, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, then-Governor Mike Huckabee wrote in support of the Real ID Act. The letter states, in part: “we want to reemphasize our commitment to working with you to implement the REAL ID statute.”
Others are not as eager to see final implementation of the measure succeed. The Real ID act, has proved to be very controversial, especially among state legislators who realized that the states would carry much of the financial burden in order to implement the 2005 law.
Since both houses of Congress passed the act in 2005, more than half the states in America have either passed or proposed legislation that would oppose the act in some form. Why? The Real ID act would require every citizen to obtain a standard driver’s license, linked by a national database, if he or she wanted to board an airplane or train, or enter a federal building, to name just a few examples. Several lawmakers have paralleled the Real ID act to implementing a national ID card, and argue that it would place unnecessary restrictions on American citizens. (Click here, to learn more.)
Another major factor driving opposition is the heavy financial burden Real ID would impose on the states. States would be forced to spend millions of dollars just to implement the program. Some states, such as Massachusetts, argue that Real ID could cost the state in access of some $150 million!
Why would Mike Huckabee support such a law that many of his colleagues have opposed, either because of the heavy state financial burden, or because it creates a national ID and threatens our right to privacy? His October 6, 2005 letter recognized some of the problems with the act but Huckabee agreed to work with Secretary Chertoff to “develop reasonable and effective standards and procedures that can truly create a more secure America.”
Nearly three years after the Real ID act was passed by Congress, there is little evidence of how such a law would protect American citizens from security threats. Instead, lawmakers and public activists are more concerned about how the act would place limitations on the American people by implementing a national ID card, equipped with intrusive biometric features, which would be financed primarily by the states, and would place severe limitations on any person or state that refused to accept the federally-mandated law.
Opposition to the Real ID act has been successful as the deadline for implantation of the provisions have been delayed by the federal government. Nevertheless, the Real ID act remains a source of controversy among many of the states. Several grassroots organizations, including The John Birch Society, have opposed the Real ID act and would like to see the law repealed by Congress. Another major opponent of the flawed law is the American Civil Liberties Union which recognizes that implementing the Real ID act would do “nothing to combat terrorism, and puts us at greater risk for invasions of privacy and identity theft.”

I ain’t surprised t’all.
Hillary has one-upped him. She defaced the American Flag by inverting the stars. Bill’s ‘ever-seeing eye of horus’ pin, Chelsea’s inverted cross necklace speak loudly. An insider revealed Hillary had a satanic Christmas tree - 12 Days of Christmas, porno-style satanism.
I no longer believe these entities have innocent, unsuspecting supporters. This stuff is rampant.
February 11th, 2008 at 8:26 pm
Dan, I’m just wondering about this Nascar thing that was talked about at this website earlier today, because a few people have gone to that sight and sent donations. Maybe I’m just stupid or something, but if they are wanting donations of $100,000, or whatever for a Nascar car for the Ron Paul campain, why haven’t we heard from you about that? I’d just like to know about it, since anyone can make a website wanting donations.
February 11th, 2008 at 8:27 pm
Is there any new information coming out concerning Washington? Be nice if the site gave more frequent updates on the status of these events. 87% just doesn’t make any sense. If anyone has any info let me know at zacharyc@gmail.com
February 11th, 2008 at 8:32 pm
Hi Marilyn:
The NASCAR thing is not connected in any way with the official campaign. Because of the restrictive campaign finance laws we have (thanks in part to John McCain) we can’t really comment on independent efforts like that one way or another.
What I can say, though, is that the one place where you can be sure that every dollar of your donation goes toward helping Ron Paul win the presidency is the campaign itself. I would advise all grassroots activists and donors to think carefully about how any given activity actually relates to getting out the vote in specific states. There’s a difference between politics and education, and between politics and entertainment.
February 11th, 2008 at 8:33 pm
“Che is a popular symbol on many college campuses […] and when many young people think of “revolution,” they think of Che.”
Yes, and that has included Ron Paul supporters as well. In fact, concerns over this very issue within the Ron Paul movement (involving communist imagery, specifically Che) has been been discussed over at Ron Paul Forums no less. In fact, I have witnessed at least one Che avatar from an apparent devout Paul supporter over there as well.
It seems that some believe that Ron Paul stands at a point in the political spectrum from whence left and right collide. Although it has confounded me at least to a degree as to why those on the far left have joined the “r3VOJution,” to associate these folks with only Barack Obama’s campaign is, to say the least, intellectual dishonesty.

There is only one way to counter the “Ron Paul has no chance!” mentality. Let us demonstrate his true vote count by showing how many of us are willing to commit to write his name on the ballot in November. Surely there must be at least 100,000 of us if you count all those who are involved in Ron Paul meetups plus posters here plus precinct leaders. Not to mention those who already voted for him in the various primaries.
We ought to publicize the write in campaign so others can join and help to find others willing to commit.
As time goes on the numbers will grow and the growth curve will show that it is feasible for Ron Paul to have enough votes on election day!
When someone says, “he doesn’t have a chance!” we could just direct him to the daily chart which will keep track of the new Ron Paul devotees each day. I predict that the curve will go up exponentially as the numbers who join and continue to spread the word grows each day.
The sooner we start the better!
Lets do it!

February 11th, 2008 at 8:54 pm
Someone needs to make this an official post:
If you can just listen to this one MSM article, you should see that Ron Paul’s censorship in the MSM is vindicated in full.
“A Roundtable on Campaign Coverage”
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=18881616
At about the 5:30 Mark…listen to Andrew’s question and Tom Rosensteele’s answer. Tom is the Director for the Project of Excellence in Journalism (http://www.journalism.org/about_pej/about_us). Here is part of Tom’s answer:
“The day before Super Tuesday Ron Paul was a significant or primary figure in ZERO PERCENT of the stories we analyze….600 stories across 48 different news outlets…Andrew is correct in suggesting that the press has discounted the chances of Ron Paul having any success.”
A few seconds later he states, “There is no doubt, it’s an objective fact that the press has decided that Ron Paul is not a viable candidate.”
This is pure vindication by the MSM. It’s a little late for the admission now that the prophecy of the MSM is being fulfilled before our eyes.

Great, SAM. I was early and got on the 3rd row. Gosh that place was packed, then of course, Dr. Paul found out there was a big crowd outside who couldn’t get in. So he went outside and gave a second speech. Just awsome!

Everyone in the country should see it - but they won’t unless someone (we ??) forces it on them.
Since I guess the psychological value of the number of views is so high, they (YouTube) have “Diebolded” the count. It has been at 931 for a few hours, and I know 3 people who have viewed it. Well at least they still let us view it even though our view-votes are not registered.
February 11th, 2008 at 9:19 pm
Well, this is amazing. Just earlier today my husband, who grew up under communism, was bugging me with his theory that in fact our democracy, no matter how you cut it (both parties), is now voting itself into communism! My husband was naturalized many years after he could have been, by careful choice only after actually studying and becoming a fervent (almost annoying, since I know how we’ve screwed up since) admirer of our founding principles. His personal “revolution” is landing him right back where he was.
So I said, buck up, buddy, here’s where we all fight back. Go Ron Paul.
February 11th, 2008 at 9:21 pm
I told ya’ll … earlier today I posted my observations from ’spying’ on the Obama website last night. In that post I wrote than a supporter exclaimed this campaign is not about ‘I’ but about ‘WE’ … and continued bloating Yes WE Can !!. This is the essence of Fascism.
To remove the ‘I’ of individualism from society, and replace it with the ‘WE’ of collectivism is exactly what militant Fascism works for. Seeing that photo with Che G.’s portrait on that friggin’ Communist Cuba flag nauseates me … and motivates me as to what is at stake in America. We are closing to losing this nation to authoritarian government … this fight to retain our freedom cannot stop when Nov 4 is over.
The movement that Obama represents is far more dangerous than Hillary’s movement. Hillary’s just an old-time panderer seeking public office for personal gain and aggrandizement. She’ll get even with Bill by doin’ some guy [or gal] in the Oval office. Obama is seeking to lead a ‘revolution’. He is far more dangerous.
February 11th, 2008 at 9:26 pm
i think those that say that they are voting for OBAMA if RON PAUL doesnt make it are choosing so because I think OBAMA would be the lesser of two evils.
I support ron paul to the fullest but if he doesnt make it on the republican ticket hopefully he would consider running as the nominee for the constitution party (if he is chosen), they seem to like/respect ron paul a lot.
February 11th, 2008 at 9:33 pm
It is very sad! When I was a kid the boogey men were the Communists who were going to take over my country if we didn’t buy bonds, but not cigars, to stop them! Now the boogey man is an Islamofascist, and a Communist flag hangs in the office of a front runner presidential candidate.
February 11th, 2008 at 9:36 pm
The Platform of the Constitution Party directly advocates theocracy. I could not support Ron Paul on that ticket.

February 11th, 2008 at 9:46 pm
I think we need to stop this thinking about RP running independent/third party. If the long term rEVOLution is going to work, it will need to happen in the Republican party and he Dr. Paul needs to be the example and stay in the Republican party. To have this revolution, we need to have more “Ron Paul” Republicans in government such as Jim Forsythe(congress) and Murray Sabrin(Senate). We simply don’t have a chance of getting these people and others elected outside of the Republican party. Unfortunately, there are too many people who will simply not vote for someone just because they are running under the Green/Constitution/Libertarian party (pick one).
Besides, I heard (Dan, correct me if I’m wrong) that if RP runs as an Independent, he will have to forfeit his congressional seat, and that wouldn’t be good either. And besides that, I heard (again, Dan, correct me if I’m wrong) that because he has already been on primary ballots as a Republican, he can’t switch parties mid campaign.
February 11th, 2008 at 9:56 pm
Has anyone actually verified this picture ?? I have a hard time imagining some campaign rep of Obama’s would be so stupid as to allow a photo like this to get out. If this gets shown in South Florida, he is TOAST among the Cuban-Americans. This is an incredibly serious faux-paux, if its validated.
February 11th, 2008 at 10:00 pm

After 2008 Che Guevara shirts will be extinct and unfashionable. They will be replaced with “Who Is Ron Paul?” shirts. In fact I ought to get one now before it becomes a collectors item.

Well, this is amazing. Just earlier today my husband, who grew up under communism, was bugging me with his theory that in fact our democracy, no matter how you cut it (both parties), is now voting itself into communism!
It’s actually closer to fascism than it is communism. The major industries in this country are not owned by the state, but they are coerced into cooperation with the powers that be through overbearing taxes and regulations (or threats of them).

I have noticed two different dates re: possible Freedom March in D.C. I have also noticed that the usual people who comment on the various articles in the HQ blog, are not responding to this. Could someone answer why?
February 11th, 2008 at 10:30 pm
Joshua Smith is correct.
For those of you who can see the Left is screwed up [along with the neo-con right, which is the Old Left] but can’t understand exactly what’s going on, I strongly recommend the very recently published book “Liberal Fascism” by Jonah Goldberg. It starts back with the Progressive and yet-undefined Fascism espoused by Woodrow Wilson and Teddy Roosevelt, and comes up through Mussolini’s “invention” of Fascism which was admired world-wide, esp. in Europe and America [by FDR]. Then the book works its way up through the 60’s to modern America in 2007. The Left hates it, so you can bet its dead-on-balls accurate !!
For a deeper philosophical appraoch, read “The Ominous Parallels” by Leonard Peikoff.
February 11th, 2008 at 10:38 pm
Joshua Smith: Dead On. Thank you.
What we also discussed was that after WWII “the club” must have looked closely at both the then-fashionable models, fascism and communism, and concluded that no matter what you call it, no matter what clothes you dress in, unlimited power in the hands of a few people is what they all wanted.
Ron Paul has had to explain to more than one pundit/debate moderator that his ideals (from the American Revolution) are not “old fashioned.” What is “old fashioned” is our seeming willingness to return to ancient tyranny…call it feudalism, fascism or communism.
This is what we all must not be willing to return to, whether we think we already “fought it” 200 years ago, or just escaped it 30 years ago. “THEY’RE BAAACK!”
It will be a fight, it will be long. But it will be a whole lot shorter if Ron Paul is President in January 2009.

This message about Obama’s true loyalties needs to be spread throughout the internet, along with Hillary Clinton’s involvement in many murders. They are both very evil people, and the dirt on them needs to become public. They are shameful people and they need to be shamed. We need to be sending e-mails to everyone we know so that this can be passed on. Che is a very bad man.

No man is without some redeeming qualities. In the case of Che Guevara, those qualities may help us to measure the gulf that separates reality from myth. His honesty (well, partial honesty) meant that he left written testimony of his cruelties, including the really ugly, though not the ugliest, stuff. His courage—what Castro described as “his way, in every difficult and dangerous moment, of doing the most difficult and dangerous thing”—meant that he did not live to take full responsibility for Cuba’s hell. Myth can tell you as much about an era as truth. And so it is that thanks to Che’s own testimonials to his thoughts and his deeds, and thanks also to his premature departure, we may know exactly how deluded so many of our contemporaries are about so much.
Guevara might have been enamored of his own death, but he was much more enamored of other people’s deaths. In April 1967, speaking from experience, he summed up his homicidal idea of justice in his “Message to the Tricontinental”: “hatred as an element of struggle; unbending hatred for the enemy, which pushes a human being beyond his natural limitations, making him into an effective, violent, selective, and cold-blooded killing machine.” His earlier writings are also peppered with this rhetorical and ideological violence. Although his former girlfriend Chichina Ferreyra doubts that the original version of the diaries of his motorcycle trip contains the observation that “I feel my nostrils dilate savoring the acrid smell of gunpowder and blood of the enemy,” Guevara did share with Granado at that very young age this exclamation: “Revolution without firing a shot? You’re crazy.” At other times the young bohemian seemed unable to distinguish between the levity of death as a spectacle and the tragedy of a revolution’s victims. In a letter to his mother in 1954, written in Guatemala, where he witnessed the overthrow of the revolutionary government of Jacobo Arbenz, he wrote: “It was all a lot of fun, what with the bombs, speeches, and other distractions to break the monotony I was living in.”

The Difference: Barack Obama & Ron Paul
SHOW THEM THIS!!!!
February 12th, 2008 at 4:34 am
CNN pulled a trick that Entertainment Tonight always pulls…They “bumpered” the first commercial break with a RP story and then not playing it until the end of the show…ET will show girls in bikinis early to ensure the men won’t leave the room…Inadvertently forcing RP supporters to endure its entirety.
The piece (of?) aluded to the fact that RP was “Running Scared” because he had spent too much time vying for president…Neglecting his Congressional duties. Those CNN dinks tricked me! I watched the whole thing! I knew it was going to be the worst…I knew the bumper had already perfectly marginalized RP. I knew that not one person other that a true RP supporter would still be watching…Each commercial LAUGHING at me!
Then the internet cutie corrospondent does the entire report…
RP supporters are like striking writers. Made to almost appear foolish and child-like for believing the internet is a substantial medium while knowing full well that RP passion is the almost-drained life-blood of humanity.
PS Doesn’t Lou Dobbs sound a lot like a stuffed RP? Lou had a great show that night…Including this question of the day about corporate America’s desire for a NAU…This makes me constantly wonder if Lou Dobbs isn’t a 3rd or 4th safety valve for Time-Warner-AOL’s bid for tyranny.
PPS_This sort of skeptisism even makes me wonder about Dr. Paul sometimes…Then I see the many obsticles that have been thrown in his (and only his) path and I smile for a second. I and we are still very screwed…I stop smiling and get back to work.
February 12th, 2008 at 4:43 am
This “Obama’s Flag” entry has me feeling like I don’t really belong on this site despite my strong support of Dr. Paul. Surely, you have better things to do than spy on people so that you can criticize their wall hangings! I’m in this revolution to protect everybody’s right to have any wall hanging he wants, and fight for his right to celebrate any god or revolutionary he wants! If your idea of the revolution includes smearing someone because you don’t like a picture on his wall, count me out.
Americans should examine more closely their own revolutionary heroes before they go off insulting the revolutionary heroes of other countries. And, in terms of communism anywhere else in the world, remember to mind your own business. There are certainly enough scoundrels in american politics to keep you busy without sticking your collective noses into what you think is wrong with other people’s heroes.

There is only one way to counter the “Ron Paul has no chance!” mentality.

Do the math! To reach 80 million just 40 million need to reach one more willing to write in Ron Paul’s name on election day. Just 20 million needed to reach 40M. Just 10 million needed to reach 20M. Just 5 million needed to reach 10M. Starting with 100,000 only need five such steps to get up to 5M, e.g. 200K, 400K, 800K, 1.6M, 3.2M, 6.4M.
Call it the Ron Paul Pass the Torch Movement or the like! There are close to 100K members of Ron Paul meetup groups to begin with. It is feasible and would energize everyone who wants to see Ron Paul win in November. Have new torch passers sign up (with their email addresses) to document the growth just as the amount of money raised is tracked on the home page here.
Lets do it!

Che was a mass murderer. It always astounds me that people continue to advertise and idolize this commie nut. When you see these images on Tshirts and posters, you at once know that the owner is an ignoramus to history and politics.

This is what we get when the only thing we hear from Obama is “change.” I had to go to his web site and see exactly what he means. He does have an issues section. I was surprised that he is more conservative than Hillary Clinton. And Edwards is far left of Hillary. However Obama is still a liberal, no mistake about it. He at least acknowledges free enterprise for making this a wealthy nation. He does not say much about taking from the goose that lays the golden egg. Hillary is about grabbing wealth from the producers. Edwards (I know he dropped out) is about killing the productive and giving to the lazy. I think the Che poster is just a symbol put up by people who do not know that Che was a communist, but a revolutionary.
The real revolution is the Ron Paul Revolution! Go Ron Paul!

Is “Individualist” A “Plant”?
(Apollonian, 12 Feb 08)
I like “individualist” above at 4:43 am, who quails fm defending Ron Paul supporters’ right to say what they think about Obama, his supporters, and their wall-hangings which -hangings ARE MEANT TO BE NOTED.
And consider the typically prejudiced characterization, alleged “spying” on wall-hangings, asserted by pretended “supporter of Ron Paul,” who then further prejudicially alleges “smearing” on part of honest commentators.
Whose side is “individualist” on? So he or she is for Ron Paul–in order to SUPPRESS criticism of murderers?
For in objective (Western) reality, Ron Paul is necessarily either against, or not, such as Che Guevara, who stands for something OR NOT, Guevara well-documented and proven thug-enforcer of communists who were funded by same CFR-Bilderberg (see TheNewAmerican.com for expo/ref. on CFR-Bilderberg conspiracy) masterminds of Federal Reserve Bank [Fed] COUNTERFEIT (see RealityZone.com for expo/ref. on Fed fraud) scam.
CONCLUSION: And it all is sorted out quite succinctly in that telling and informative slogan: “Ron Paul: For America First–NOT Israel or the UN.” Honest elections and death to the Fed. Apollonian

To Individualist …
Che Guevara started out like any Marxist/Fascist ‘freedom fighter’, with the ‘Good of the People’ as his goal while he played Robin Hood. And he ended up just like all of them do a bigger thug. Instead of taking what he needed to survive during his jungle expeditions, he started taking whatever he desired from the peasants he was supposedly fighting for. Amazing how power corrupts one so quickly. Many of his supporters turned against him. Eventually our Green Berets tracked him down and wasted him — a fate richly earned.
I’m not sure how you can claim to be an individualist and defend the very collectivism that Guevara and Castro represent. It is your view that is warped and not ours. Hitler was flying his Nazi flag at home and local beer halls years before he was democratically elected to the power which he used to destroy millions of lives. If that bimbo sitting at that desk in the photo under a Communist Flag of Cuba with Che’s picture on it adovates for Castro and Che as ‘honorable’ men, and for Communism as an ideal to be pursued, then she is the enemy of everything that Amrerica, and Ron Paul, and I stand for !

Joshua Smith …
“its dead-on-balls accurate !!”
I don’t know the original source, but Marisa Tomei said it to Joe Pesci in that movie comedy where he played a lawyer defending his cousin for murder. It was a great line.

Haha wow some of you get WAY off track.
The reason for the popularity of Che, especially in the Paul ranks, is because there has not been a sufficient spreading of the ACTUAL position on issues. I see anti SOLDIER Paul supporters all the time who think because Paul is against the war in Iraq, he hates US soldiers. I see all kinds of leftist stuff in the Paul ranks and it makes me sick. I think its one of the big reasons Paul got less support from undecided voters. No republican who is trying to decide who he should vote for is going to vote for a bunch of lefties in Che shirts chasing people down the street.

You guys are really silly, almost as silly as the Obama supporter who has this up in her office. Obama is not a fan of Che Guevara, this is just one supporter who obviously doesn’t know the real truth about Che. You are blowing this completely out of proportion if you think Obama has anything to do with that Che flag.

Che, and communism stand for everything I am personally against. I don’t know how people can so casually accept communism in any form. It’s time to break out of that Marxist mentality and call a spade a spade. Che was a spreader of communism, the most dangerous ideology ever to plague mankind. Tens of millions died under the communist banner in the former soviet union. Just in one instance 10 Million Ukrainians were murdered by the communist monster Lazar Kaganovich, as revenge on the Cossacks for the hardships his people suffered under them. Although I think Genocide or Holocaust would be more fitting. How many were actually killed in the basements of the kremlin we may never know, but it is believed to be at least 20 million under Stalin alone. Peoples subjugated and murdered if they didn’t fall into line.
Loss of culture, loss of religion, loss of identity, loss of life for the many ethnic groups forced into subjugation under communism, was only one facet of the immense tragedy of the communist doctrine. For those of you who have left leanings and sympathize with the message of marxism, I beg you to open your eyes. People need to be free to be who they are, ethnically, religiously, and personally. If you are against a one world government, and you support communism, then you are just being hypocritical. That is what communism is, no nations, no races, no cultures, nothing but the grey communist entity; all uniqueness and beauty regulated and stuffed into the same repressive box.

So let me get this straight, you Ron Paul lemmings are all up in arms because some idiot put a Che flag up in an Obama field office (not Obama himself) that Barack himself has probably never even visited as there are literally several hundreds of these offices across the country. And yet you mouth breathers obviously don’t care that your savior, Mr. Paul HIMSELF, put out racist newsletters. http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/01/10/paul.newsletters/
You then surmise that because someone in Obama’s field office apparently likes Che Guevera, that Mr. Obama is obviously a sympathizer of Che Guevera as well.
I guess using your distorted logic, because you all support an obviously racist candidate, you all are racists too, huh???
Idiocy knows no bounds..You all are living proof
